The EPA has released the official figures for the upcoming 2014 Chevy Spark EV, and impressive they are. The EPA has rated the Spark EV’s electric range at 82 miles, and an overall combined efficiency of 119 MPGe.

Full EPA specs are:

  • 82 miles electric range
  • 128 MPGe city
  • 109 MPGe highway
  • 119 MPGe combined

GM chief engineer for electrified vehicles Pam Fletcher says “Being able to provide our customers with the best overall efficiency of any retail EV has always been a key target for the Spark EV engineering team.  We’re poised to deliver to the market an EV that’s not just efficient, but also thrilling to drive thanks to the 400 lb-ft torque output of its electric motor.” GM also points out that Spark EV owners will save up to $9,000 in fuel costs over 5 years.

GM is set to launch the Chevy Spark EV in late July in Oregon and California, and while pricing hasn’t been  announced, we do know it will come in under $25,000 after incentives.
