Later this month Fiat will officially reveal the production ready 500e – the electric version of its Fiat 500 model. Details around the electric model are all unofficial, and mostly unknown, so there is some anticipation of what the automaker will reveal at the LA Auto show.
Until then, Fiat hopes these 2 images will keep you interested enough. From what can be seen in the photos, the Fiat 500e appears to be very similar to other 500 models. It does have a redesigned front fascia, lower side sills, aero underbody lip and more aerodynamic wheels. We are a fan of the orange and white color combination.
Fiat has said that the 500e will be available in California sometime in 2013. This has led to speculation that the Fiat 500e is merely a compliance vehicle, and Fiat has neither confirmed or denied that claim, unlike Chevy who was very clear in its statement regarding the Spark EV.
