Infiniti LE Concept will make production within 2 years

Infiniti’s latest reveal, the Infiniti LE concept, is said to be hitting dealerships within 2 years in nearly unchanged form. The Infiniti LE is a purpose built electric vehicle (rather than a conversion of a current model) and would be the fancier sibling to the Nissan Leaf EV.

The Infiniti LE Concept boats a 24kWh lithium ion battery pack made up of 192 cells and position under the passenger compartment floor (sounds the same as the Nissan Leaf battery pack). The Infiniti LE uses a 100kw electric motor that will give it 134hp and 240 ft-lbs of torque. Infiniti made sure to point out that the LE concept is not a small car. It’s roughly the same length as the G sedan and has seating for 5 adults in relative comfort.

The body of the Infiniti LE has been specially designed to be highly streamlined, and manages a .25 coefficient of drag. This beats the Leaf by a few hundredths on the coefficient scale thanks to wheels with aero-treatment, a high rear deck, a rear aero diffuser and aero side fin spoilers.

The front grille has a charge port hidden under the illuminated center Infiniti emblem.
